Senior Applications Analyst

Summary/Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Participates as technical expert in analysis, design, development, coding, testing, and/or debugging of enterprise software applications and/or significant enhancements to existing software which may include applications over multiple platforms. Administers and implements enterprise applications. Participates in complex projects and assists in estimating and planning for future development work. Performs complex system integration tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Strategic Planning
  • Provides application development leadership for new and existing software applications.
  • Partners with user in gathering requirements and designing features for technology.
  • Provides recommendations on how to enhance system for future growth.


Administration/Operations
  • Responds to customer inquiries via phone, online, in-person, etc.
  • Develops and implements procedures for data security, management and compliance
  • Creates and maintains code/software/process/support documentation.
  • Creates ad hoc administrative reports.
  • Delivers system presentations and overviews.
  • Evaluates feature/upgrade/change requests and recommends action.
  • Researches new technologies to enhance current system.
  • Identifies database and software performance issues and make adjustments.
  • Participates in change control process.
  • Grants system access to new users.

Development
  • Acts as subject matter expert (SME) in appropriate technologies and business domain.
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents all phases of applications development OR configures, administers, and manages application.
  • Codes software applications adhering to designs supporting internal business requirements or external user.
  • Troubleshoots complex, difficult issues.
  • Provides recommendations on how to enhance system to meet full business requirements.
  • Prioritize tasks
  • Leads projects ensuring timelines and deliverables are met and meet expectations.
  • Participate in and successfully complete all University required training including, but not limited to discrimination/harassment and code of conduct.
  • Performs other job related duties and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications/Education and/or Experience:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of relevant IT experience required.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Microsoft Dynamics and/or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL server database and supporting tools.
  • Excellent PC Knowledge and skills; including but not limited to Microsoft family of software's: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Office 365, SharePoint.
  • Ability to multitask, supporting multiple applications and projects while still meeting deadlines and commitments.
  • Strong team centric work style.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across disciplines with administrators, faculty and/or students.
  • Excellent communications and active listening skills, including but not limited to, able to convey and receive verbal and written information effectively and efficiently as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and/or conclusions to problems.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
