Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at the University of Hartford is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning in August 2019.

The successful candidate must have completed the doctorate in psychology or closely related field by Fall 2019. Primary teaching responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses in the integrated and applied two-course sequence in Research Methods and Statistics as well as in the candidate's area of specialization. Preference will be given to candidates who are interested in also teaching current course offerings in culture/diversity or biological psychology as well as expand offerings in these areas. There will also be opportunities to teach in our innovative University Interdisciplinary Studies program and in the graduate programs. The teaching load is three courses per semester.  Candidates should show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching.  Additionally, candidates will be expected to remain active in creative/scholarly pursuits and seek opportunities for peer-reviewed publications. Successful applicants will be expected to participate in departmental and school committees, advise students, and contribute to student recruitment and retention. Essential are excellent teaching, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.  Candidates should demonstrate the commitment and ability to recruit, mentor, and actively engage and involve undergraduate and graduate students in research.
