Assistant Professor of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Hartford invites applications for a tenuretrack assistant professor position in Biochemistry beginning Fall 2019.  Applicants should have a Ph.D. in biochemistry. (Advanced ABD candidates will be considered.) The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent research program involving undergraduates.  Primary teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate courses in biochemistry, organic chemistry (either the one-year sophomore sequence or a one-semester course covering organic chemistry and biochemistry), and the introductory chemistry sequence.  Other teaching opportunities include general-education courses such as the First-Year Seminar in the College of Arts and Sciences and in the innovative University Interdisciplinary Studies curriculum, plus advanced courses in the candidate’s field of expertise.  Candidates committed to encouraging under-represented minorities in STEM disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply.
