Occupational Therapy Program - Founding Director

This individual will be responsible for the initial development of the doctor of Occupational Therapy degree program at the University. Specifically, they will be responsible for developing curricular content, preparation of State Council of Higher Education for Virginia ( SCHEV ) application materials, leading accreditation application, recruiting prospective faculty, and establishing a teaching laboratory for program needs. The position is a 10-month full-time faculty position.
This is an open rank position although preference will be given to those individuals who satisfy the criteria for consideration at the Associate Clinical Professor or Associate Professor level.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
a) experience in scholarly activities;
b) teaching experience at the professional or post-professional level

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
a) An earned doctorate in occupational therapy or a related field;

Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification
a) Current certification with National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy ( NBCOT ); b) Licensed or eligibility for licensure as an occupational therapist in the State of Virginia;

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include: a) clinical practice experience, b) familiarity with accreditation standards, c) prior experience in program development or curriculum design, and d) previous program director or administrative experience.
