Systems Analyst

Reports To: Assistant Director of Data Integration and Applications Support

Position Type: Full Time

Standard Hours: 40 hours/week

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary:

The Systems Analyst's role is to specialize in the use and function of supported IT systems within the organization. Working in tandem with the network and systems admins, analysts and IT Leadership, the duties are to actively maintain, monitor, and improve system configuration, operational reporting and security safeguards. Puts in place proper policies, procedures, and updates, and actively re-visits with new information surrounding IT best practices to ensure a stable and secure operation of College assets. By performing these duties, they will support Keuka College's academic, research, and business missions by making our systems meet the needs of our users in an effective and secure manner.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Respond to support requests related to the operation and configuration of our ERP system.
  • Collaborate with system end users and stakeholders to build out proper enhancement, maintenance, data integrity and security plans.
  • Oversee the installation and configuration of new systems and customize them to meet the specific needs of the organization.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot departmental reports and investigate root causes related to the data structure and data usage in the data warehouse.
  • Train and educate end users on new system features and functionality.
  • Create and maintain IT best practices and policy, surrounding areas such as reporting and data structure, business operations, training materials, and also security and confidentiality policies in collaboration with the Information Security Office.
  • In collaboration with the Information Security Office, maintain Disaster Recovery policies and procedures in case of data loss/service loss to return to business functionality in an efficient manner.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend software and hardware solutions which ensure high quality and cost-effective operations.
  • Support and employ change control procedures as a means of managing changes in policies or configurations.
  • Work with Information Systems and Security team members and other technical support services both internal and external including vendors, carriers, and other entities to rapidly troubleshoot and resolve production system and security-related issues.
  • Serve as a team member and contributor for major IT initiatives and projects.
  • Maintain consistent performance and productivity levels in accordance with established metrics and standards.
  • As needed, will provide cross coverage with other members of the Information Systems and Security staff.
  • Resolve tickets and service requests as assigned in the IT Help Desk system.
  • Perform on-call duties, which may require the carrying of a pager/cellphone.
  • Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
  • Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.
  • Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by management.


Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  2. Knowledge of ERP systems, reporting and analytics tools, software implementation and support.
  3. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  4. Strong organization skills.
  5. Ability to complete tasks efficiently and on time.
  6. Ability and willingness to take initiative in driving project completion.
  7. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  8. Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.
  9. Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff and the public.
  10. Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.


Physical Requirements:

  • Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
