Financial Reporting Coordinator


The Henry and Lois Foster Hospital for Small Animals is the flagship teaching hospital of the Cummings School, with approximately 34,000 patients seen per year. The hospital provides 24-hour care for pets 365 days of the year and offers high quality medical care, consultation, referral, and emergency veterinary services for the care of dogs, cats, and exotic pets. The hospital provides advanced veterinary
care for small animal patients throughout New England and creates a positive learning experience for veterinary students, interns and residents.

This position performs cost analysis for Sections within the hospitals, assist in the production of the financial reports to assist Hospital Administration in making management decisions. Responsibilities require a strong understanding of the University Accounting Systems, (Payroll/Peoplesoft/A/P), working knowledge of the Stringsoft Electronic Medical Record to complete financial reconciliations, and the ability to purchase items through the Accounts Payable System. Responsible for implementing, updating and changing new laboratory fee schedules on a yearly basis as needed. Handling of other financial projects as needed.



Qualifications:


Basic Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance with five years or more of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

This position requires a high level of interaction between Administration, clinicians and staff. Must have excellent communication skills. Requires a computer background and a working knowledge of the existing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and an understanding of the accounting financial system. Must have a working knowledge of how the accounting system work together. Strong analytical ability to review, produce and manage financial reports. Must enforce financial policies and fee schedules for both hospitals.
