Associate Director Tufts Fund - Tufts Annual Giving, University Advancement



The Tufts Annual Giving Team (TAG) is looking for an Associate Director of the Tufts Fund to manage a frontline fundraising team (2 assistant directors and a staff assistant) responsible for soliciting alumni and parents nationwide for Arts, Sciences and Engineering annual fund priorities. This position will manage a portfolio of 75-100 prospects, with a focus on identifying, soliciting, and stewarding leadership prospects of $5,000 . You will work closely with the Sr. Director to set the strategy for leadership annual fund giving including Packard Society analysis, review of marketing materials and proposal templates, and goal setting.

Tufts Annual Giving (TAG) is responsible for the Tufts Fund for Arts, Sciences, and Engineering (Tufts Fund). The Tufts Fund is critical to the successful operation of the School of Arts and Sciences and School of Engineering at Tufts University as it currently raises more than $11 million dollars annually, with nearly 80% of that toward unrestricted budget-relieving purposes. Tufts Fund gifts support financial aid, faculty salaries, curriculum development, and student activities. Additionally, the Tufts Fund staff has a significant impact in strengthening the alumni giving participation rate, one of the statistics used by U.S. News & World Report when determining college rankings. The Tufts Fund is a critical entry point for young alumni participation, setting the stage for long term philanthropy, and is a resource for identifying future major gift prospects.



Qualifications:


Minimum requirements:

  • BA/BS or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • 5-7 years of professional experience, preferably in fundraising or a comparable field with transferable skills such as project management, sales, writing, data analysis and communications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word & Excel
  • Domestic travel required (25-35 days on the road per year)
  • Valid US Driver s License


Preferred Experience:

  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Execute ask for gifts of $1,000-$50,000
  • Experience with complex databases
  • Experience conducting detailed analysis
  • Management experience
