Job Description Summary

The School of Fisheries, Aquaculture & Aquatic Sciences (www.sfaas.auburn.edu) at Auburn University (www.auburn.edu) seeks a scientist in the field of aquatic toxicology and/or risk assessment. The position is a nine-month, tenure track at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The successful candidate will have a 75% research and 25% instruction appointment. The projected start date is June 1, 2019.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to (1) develop an externally funded, student-centered research program in aquatic toxicology and/or risk assessment; (2) develop and teach graduate courses in aquatic risk assessment and aquatic toxicology.

Minimum Qualifications

Required qualifications include: (1) an earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution in an appropriate discipline (e.g., Toxicology, Physiology, Biology) at the time employment begins, and (2) a strong publication record in aquatic toxicology and/or risk assessment. Desired qualifications include (1) background and experience to teach courses in aquatic toxicology and risk assessment, (2) potential to attract research funding, (3) research interests that complement those of current faculty members, and (4) postdoctoral experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and be eligible to work in the United States both at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and during the proposed term of employment. Salary and start-up funds are negotiable.
