Systems Support Technician

Position Summary:
Provide Tier I and Tier II technical support and is responsible for the installation, repair, configuration, and maintenance of workstations, portable computing devices, desktop computers, and the associated peripheral equipment and software for users in multiple departments across multiple locations within the Administrative Services Division. Preforms troubleshooting efforts for major hardware or software problems and works with vendors to return defective products for service. In addition, the Systems Support Technician also gathers and manages information needed for maintenance of departmental system documentation and inventory databases. Performs other IT-related work as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Experience with enterprise management of desktop and laptop computers.
- Experience supporting multiple computer operating systems, including OSX and Windows 7/8/10.
- Experience working in networked computing environments, including TCP /IP, IPv4/IPv6, and wireless networks.
- Experience in a Windows Domain and Windows Active Directory environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of PC hardware, software and printing.
- Experience in IP Security, Windows Firewall and knowledge of desktop security best practices.
- Ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, students and vendors.
- Ability to keep thorough documentation.
- Ability to provide clear and concise communication.
- Ability to work autonomously with little supervision.
- Ability to effectively analyze, research and resolve technical problems.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license in order to travel and transport equipment to various work sites across campus.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mobile device platforms.
- Experience with automated image deployment.
- Experience with Windows roaming profiles and file redirection.
- Experience with providing helpdesk support in a large enterprise environment.
- Experience with software systems for PC inventory and large-scale PC deployment solutions.
- Experience working in a state and/or university environment
