Applications are currently being accepted for Instructional Assistant / Learning Resources in the School of Learning Resources and Academic Support, located at San Diego Mesa College. This is a 40 hour work week. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Desired Qualifications:
A minimum of three years of experience in tutoring, education, or work experience related to supporting a learning assistance center; Bachelors Degree; Demonstrated desire to seek out professional learning and share with others; Experience tutoring students; Experience with inputting data and maintaining tracking software that monitors hours in a learning center or similar experience; Experience with successfully maintaining the front desk of a tutoring center in a warm and welcoming manner with superior customer service Communicate effectively orally and in writing; Ability to work cooperatively with others as well as independently with little direction; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; Ability to meet schedules and timelines; Experience in training student aides and hourly assistants; Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.

Pay Information:
Range 18 ($3,183.98 $5,082.34) per month based on the current AFT Classified Unit Office Technical Salary Schedule

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the AFT-Guild, Local 1931 Classified Staff Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt and may accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
