Job Purpose
Teach undergraduate and graduate students in sport administration/sport management courses. The Department of Exercise Science provides undergraduate concentrations in fitness and wellness, pre-physical therapy, pre-occupational therapy, pre-athletic training, pre-physician assistant, sport administration and physical education teacher licensure and concentrations in adapted physical education, elementary/middle physical education, lifetime wellness and sport management at the master's level.

Essential Functions
Teach undergraduate classes that may include but not limited to exercise and sport psychology, sports ethics, facilities management, legal issues in sport, and sport governance. Teach graduate courses that may include but not limited to sport marketing and promotion, leadership, administration and supervision of sport, facility design and management and risk management. Evaluate current programs and make recommendations for updates and changes. Develop relationships with various entities and individuals in the sport management field. Serve our students, the department, college and university in a supporting and professional manner. Provide leadership in and of the profession of sport management. Initiate and participate in scholarly activities related to the specified field of expertise in an effort to grow the programs and establish a presence in the sport management profession for the university and department. Serve as a faculty mentor to students. Serve on departmental, college and university committees. Serve the profession as appropriate. Pursue external funding. Supervise field experience students.

Minimum Qualifications
Earned doctorate degree from an accredited institution in Sport Management, Sport Administration, Sport Studies, or related field and eligibility for the rank of assistant professor. Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Sport Management, Sport Administration or Sport Studies. Experience teaching exercise and sport psychology, sports ethics, sport governance, facilities management, legal issues in sport, sport management, sport marketing and promotion, leadership or risk management. Documented experience in designing courses.

Preferred Qualifications
At least three years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Sport Management, Sport Administration or Sport Studies. Documented success in on-line teaching in higher education and related web presence such as blogging or podcasts. Documented work experience in the sport management field, Identified scholarly interest and activity including research, presentations and publications. Documented grant writing potential. Experience in accreditation process. Successful in program evaluation and modification.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position to begin January 2019.
