Financial Aid Technology Coordinator

Job Summary

The Office of Financial Aid at Columbus State University is looking for a Financial Aid Technology Coordinator. This position will report to the Director of Financial Aid and will coordinate aspects of the Technology Division in the Office of Financial Aid.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: supervising the daily and weekly Banner job submission task lists to support Direct Loan and HOPE processing and sending communications to students; testing Banner upgrades and defect patches; ensuring all items are performed by the Financial Aid Technology Specialist are completed, to include, daily ISIR loads, FAFSA Correction files, IRS/FAFSA Data Retrieval files, and other responsibilities; providing counseling and assistance to students seeking to obtain financial aid; reviewing eligibility and award students for the HOPE Scholarship program; reviewing federal aid applications and making federal awards to students; analyzing tax documents and statements; counseling students on the application process and Satisfactory Academic Progress policies; and conducting educational outreach sessions on financial aid for on-campus and public sectors.

Required Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of two years' experience administering Financial Aid or Enrollment Service processing. The selected candidate must possess excellent customer service, communications, leadership, organizational, and writing skills; the ability to work independently in a fast paced customer service oriented environment; a demonstrated ability to use and understand computer programs; use sound judgement; multi-task; and possess the ability to learn and interpret federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master's degree, previous financial aid experience, and experience with BANNER is preferred. Experience processing financial aid tasks (SAIG/Edconnect daily file import/export, grouping and sending outbound communications, etc.) is also preferred.

Proposed Salary

The salary is commensurate with education and experience.
