The Graduate Assistant reports to the Director of the Center of Online Learning and collaborates with staff members to perform supporting activities relating to online learning and distance education.
Responsibilities
Make recommended edits to COOL Course Accessibility Web page, Online Course Accessibility Policy web page, and Online Course Accessibility Guidelines web page; provide technical assistance for Web Design; provide technical assistance in programming languages including HTML; assists with updates to CSS; provide editing of documents using Adobe tools; provide multimedia production assistance for recording, editing, and creation of alternative media formats including transcribing, and captioning; assists with the creation of instructional materials and video tutorials; assists with faculty workshops and assists with accessibility reviews of Online Courses and Content including HTML, Word, PowerPoint, PDF, Excel, and additional documents plus third party tools and web sites; review and validate 3rd party VPATS used in online instruction for accessibility.
Required Qualifications
Possess knowledge of MS Office Tools, Web Design, HTML, CSS, Adobe Suite Tools, multimedia production, and editing; familiarity with W3C WCAG 2.0 standards as well as with ADA, Section 508, and other ICT accessibility related laws; strong commitment to team collaboration and the aAbility to create accessible content; minimum education and experience must include a bachelor's degree and tutoring experience; must be enrolled at CSU and must have earned an A or B in courses tutored.
Proposed Salary
The salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position will work up to 19 hours per week.
