Position Summary:
The Department of Economics at Virginia Tech is seeking to fill an open-rank position in the university's collegiate faculty program. The program is an outgrowth of the university's commitment to undergraduate education. Collegiate faculty members have primary duties in curriculum development and instruction, including undergraduate teaching, undergraduate research supervision, and related scholarly activity. This position may also serve as the Department's Director of Undergraduate Studies. The collegiate faculty positions are full-time multi-year appointments (three years for assistant collegiate professors, five years for associate collegiate professors, and seven years for collegiate professors), and the appointments are renewable, with reappointment and/or promotion within the collegiate faculty ranks for qualified individuals. Salary and teaching assignments are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in economics is required. A successful candidate must have significant experience and a proven record in undergraduate teaching and advising. For the current position the department seeks someone who can develop and assist in creating online courses.

Preferred Qualifications:
This position may also serve as the Director of Undergraduate Students so the candidate should show a clear vision for improving the Department's Undergraduate Program. Interest in pedagogy of economics will be an added advantage.
