Brief Summary:

Marist College seeks an innovative Director of the Raymond A. Rich Institute for Leadership Development. The Director oversees programming and day-to-day operations of the Raymond A. Rich Institute, which seeks to develop the communication, interpersonal, and social skills necessary for ethical and values-oriented leadership of complex organizations in a global setting. Reporting to the College's Chief Academic Officer, this individual will promote the institute's mission of educating and training individuals in the art of leadership for careers in business, government, and the nonprofit sector. The Director will foster cross-divisional, collaborative initiatives and events related to leadership development, including speakers, conferences, and workshops. S/he will work with deans and faculty to assist in the development of curricula and academic programs focused on leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with deans and faculty to assist in the development of curriculum and academic programs focused on leadership.
• Create new and leverage existing external relationships and partnerships on behalf of the Institute to benefit the College.
• Work in concert with the Office of College Marketing and Communication in order to build out the Institute's digital presence and raise awareness of its mission and programming.
• Serve as the institutional point of contact for the Institute, and manage all day-to-day operations and correspondence.
• Work closely with faculty, deans, senior administrators, and other stakeholders to develop a strategic vision and operational plan for the Raymond A. Rich Institute for Leadership Development.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have 5 or more years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, business or non-profit program development with a proven track record of success. Strong leadership and managerial skills are essential, along with high-level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. The ability to effectively harness and leverage technology is critical. Must be an energetic, self-directed team player, committed to the mission of Marist College and the Raymond A. Rich Institute for Leadership Development. Master's degree is required, doctoral/advanced degree is preferred.
