The Department of Dermatology in the School of Medicine (http://dermatology.ucsd.edu/) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Department is recruiting new clinical faculty with a focus in Academic Dermatology to join our multidisciplinary and fast growing program.
The Department of Dermatology has clinical practices in multiple locations providing General Dermatology, Dermatopathology, Cosmetic Dermatology, Procedural Dermatology, Mohs Surgery and Pediatric Dermatology services. Our team is comprised of outstanding faculty and staff committed to patient care, and jointly shares education and quality initiatives. Training of future academic dermatologists and researchers is a high priority for the Department of Dermatology at UCSD. In addition to clinical excellence, we are proud to have several faculty members with highly successful teaching and research programs that reflect the wide range of needs in cutaneous biology. As a result of our superior faculty, The Department of Dermatology at UCSD has earned the respect of the international community as one of the premier dermatology programs in the nation.
Qualified candidates must have an MD, DO, or MD /PhD degree and be Board-certified or Board-eligible in Dermatology within a year of appointment. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical dermatology care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, and a strong interest in education and academic medicine.
Researchers must be or have demonstrated skills and a track record to support success in their research area of focus. Research areas can include, but are not limited to: clinical trials, epidemiology, cancer biology, basic immunology, genetics, chemistry and bioinformatics as applied to investigating the biology or diseases of the skin.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. A link to full descriptions of each series is provided for your review:
