About the Position:

The Diversity and Strategic Recruitment Manager (DSRM) manages and facilitates the VCCS system-wide diversity and inclusion initiatives by promoting a climate of diversity, pluralism, inclusion and respect that reflects the VCCS' aspirations to become a high performance organization and a model for diversity and inclusion. This position serves as a key partner in the recruitment for hard to fill and high demand faculty positions (i.e., nursing and cyber security) as well as senior leadership positions (VP and above). The DSRM maintains a focus on increasing the demographic diversity of teaching faculty and the leadership of the System, while developing strategies to more effectively recruit nationwide.

The successful candidate will have the ability influence and enhance all aspects of internal community through culture, outreach, education, data analysis, decision-making, administration of senior leadership's diversity and inclusion initiatives and the continued development and facilitation of the system's recruitment and hiring processes.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Earned Master's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting, hiring, and employment related matters.
  • Knowledge, familiarity or experience in the creation and delivery of diversity, inclusion and cultural competency programs, initiatives, activities, outreach, culture change and training.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines related to diversity and equal opportunity.
  • Excellent analytical reasoning skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to develop internal and external partnerships in order to enhance recruitment and retention initiatives statewide.
  • Ability to collaborate with and support the System Office Human Resources department with various initiatives and projects.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with program development, training, and project management.
  • Experience in non-profits, governments, or higher education.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification.
