Systems Analyst (Systems Administrator 1), UCP 7


The Office of Student Financial Aid Services (OSFAS) invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, permanent Systems Analyst. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Systems, this individual works as part of the team responsible for maintaining the Oracle Campus Solutions (CS) Financial Aid (FA) Module and the day-to-day technical operations within the OSFAS.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for proper setup, support and testing of one or more moderately complex financial aid business processes; such as communications, comments, and checklists used to maintain student records;
  • Thoroughly documenting functions of current business processes, changes to new or modified processes, and test activities/results and development of detailed user guides/training material;
  • Assists with fulfilling requests for data reports, statistical analyses and management of extensive data in the Oracle Campus Solutions System, imaging system, and future systems and data warehouses to meet the high demands of the department and the University;
  • Serving as local Administrator and Financial Aid Representative to the Administration team for the Perceptive Content document imaging system;
  • Serving as web administrator for Office of Student Financial Aid Services websites, maintaining and updating content and web applications;
  • Serving as supervisor for student employees within the Systems area;
  • Participating in various outreach activities such as semi-annual Open Houses;
  • Performs other duties and/or completes special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in computer related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, AND two to three years technical experience which demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of mainframe hardware and software;
  • Knowledge of systems design criteria as well as systems architecture, demonstrated experience with web development, including the use of JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5;
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data to meet business needs;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure; ability to work effectively with vendors, staff and users at all levels;
  • Demonstrated understanding of relational database structure; demonstrated experience with the utilization of query tools to access data;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products with the ability to learn other software programs;
  • Capacity to produce consistently accurate work;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently as well as show commitment to a team;
  • Demonstrated experience as an inquisitive problem-solver, self-motivated, results-driven and one who takes initiative to proactively solve business process issues and complete work tasks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • In-depth knowledge of the set-up, usage, debugging, modifying, and data structures of Oracle Campus Solutions Financial Aid Module;
  • Master's degree in Educational Technology, Computer Science, Information Technologies or related field;
  • Proven SQL, PL/SQL knowledge and skills;
  • Basic understanding of Angular JavaScript;
  • Experience with PeopleTools, SQR, BI Publisher, Integration Broker, Application Engine, Application Designer, Component Interface and other Oracle technologies;
  • Experience with administering Perceptive Content/OnBase document imaging system.
  • Demonstrated project management experience;
  • Higher education experience and particularly experience working in student administrative services;
  • Familiarity with business processes and procedures as they relate to financial aid and understanding of the dynamic nature of federal regulations;
  • Competency with data analysis and visualization tools such as R, Stata, SPSS, Tableau, etc.
