Coordinator of Real Estate Services

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Real Estate Services, the Coordinator of Real Estate Services effectively supports the planning and execution of real estate transactions. The position works collaboratively to facilitate the negotiation and preparation of facility use agreements. At the direction of the Assistant Director, the position supports the process of acquiring and selling real property, including easements. The position will work to ensure that all real property transactions are completed in an effective and timely manner for the benefit of the university.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or related field; or education and considerable real estate transactional experience to equate to a degree.
- Working knowledge of real estate principles, financial analyses, practices, and law, and contract writing and interpretation;
- Experience in examining title reports, surveys, property descriptions, appraisals and environmental surveys/reports.
- Experience arranging logistics for meetings, events, and/or programs.
- Experience in the use of computers, and the use of word processing and accounting/spreadsheet software.
- Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and the ability to effectively interact and build relationships with diverse internal and external constituencies.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects; excellent organizational, leadership, and delegation skills; and ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters.
- Valid driver's license with good driving record.
- Ability to travel to on-campus and off-campus facilities sites, with occasional overnight travel.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Real estate transactional experience, preferably within a higher education setting.
- State of Virginia knowledge in the areas of contract management and compliance management.
- Experience as a Real Estate Paralegal.
- Credentialed as a Real Estate Paralegal or Real Estate Attorney.
- Notary Public certification/registration or ability to obtain appointment of Notary Public.
