Advancement Associate

Position Summary:
The Advancement Associate for the Corps of Cadets will be responsible for managing all 700+ Corps Scholarship awards ensuring quality control and accuracy of awarding and stewardship. Developing, implementing, and managing donor relations, donor stewardship, and alumni and stakeholder engagement activities in support of the Advancement efforts of the college. This role will be critical to the overall success of Advancement as Corps donors cross impact every area of university advancement, including well over 50% of our Principal Gifts level prospects. The Advancement Associate will report to the Chief Advancement Officer and work closely with the director of Alumni Relations and the Corps Advancement team.

Required Qualifications:
Related experience in the field of donor relations and/or event planning at a college or university; Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and take ownership of the position; Strong professional interpersonal skills for positive external communications and interactions; Demonstrated skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and calendaring; Ability to write professional correspondence using correct grammar without the use of a template; Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects in priority order; Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail as well as success in multi-tasking; strong basic math skills; Display good judgment and diplomacy skills in working with various levels of both internal and external clients providing excellent customer service via telephone or in person; Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines. Ability and willingness to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of creativity and initiative. Demonstrated experience working with vendors and arranging for contracted services.

Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of the university organizational structure, policies and procedures, and governance system. Experience working in higher education. Experience working with databases. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Excel. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to make decisions quickly. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated experience with computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must be able to maintain confidential materials, work accurately and independently, and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment. Ability to produce correspondences. Ability to make independent decisions and to prioritize and meet deadlines. Must be available to work nights and weekends.
