Administrative Assistant - Business Service Center

Position Summary:
This position will provide administrative assistance to the Business Service Center in the Advancement Division by:
- Preparing and submitting RFP vouchers for foundation funds.
- Auditing travel vouchers for accuracy.
- Initiating PO's, ISR's and IPR's for state funds using HokieMart.
- Ordering supplies as needed by the different units in Advancement.
- Recording transactions in SharePoint.
- Filing, copying and other office organizational duties.
- Assisting with other financial and administrative duties as requested.

Required Qualifications:
- Experience providing administrative support in an academic or professional office setting.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software applications such as Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to carry out the daily functions of the Business Service Center with the highest degree of professionalism and confidentiality, displaying a solid understanding of protocol in handling complex and sensitive issues.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping, accounting, and purchasing procedures.
- Ability to follow detailed processes for compliance with standards and adherence to established procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with state/university travel regulations/system and reimbursement processes.
- Working knowledge of Financial Banner and Time Clock Plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of University accounting systems and operating procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of VT Foundation payment, transfer and reconciliation procedures.
- Knowledge of the University Pcard system.
