Job Description Summary

The Department of Educational Foundations, Leadership, and Technology in the College of Education at Auburn University is seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the area of Adult Education. The Department offers courses of instruction to support the Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral level programs in Adult Education. Auburn University has a strong commitment to teaching, research, and outreach, and offers outstanding opportunities for faculty who want to be part of an institution committed to serving the diverse population of the state and region. We are actively seeking candidates who will strengthen the diversity of our faculty in order to more accurately reflect the diversity of the students in our department and college and in the broader community. Responsibilities: (a) teaching undergraduate and graduate students in the area of adult education; (b) developing distance education programs in the areas of adult education; conducting research and development activities in adult education; (d) conducting outreach and public service activities, (e) developing and securing contracts and grants; (f) working cooperatively with the State Department of Education and related agencies in business, and industry groups.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: (a) an earned Doctoral Degree in Adult Education or its equivalent at the time employment begins; (b) demonstrated ability or potential for an active program of scholarly research; ( c ) demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in undergraduate or graduate instruction; (d) experience with integrating technology in education and distance education; and (e) demonstrated or potential ability to conduct empirical research; (f) the candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; and (g) excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are required.

Desired Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications: (a) experience with instruction in business and industry, state and/or federal government; (b) experience with technical colleges, community colleges, and/or post-secondary colleges and universities; ( c ) related experience in education leadership, adult growth and development, and education technology; (d) demonstrated ability to pursue external research and/or outreach funding.
