Division/Department Information

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

The Department has 38 full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members with research interests in medicinal chemistry, toxicology, pharmacology, and industrial pharmacy/pharmaceutics. The Department offers both the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. Modern instrumentation and AAALAC-accredited facilities are available.

Responsibilities

This is a tenure-track position. Responsibilities include establishing an active research program in pharmacology that will attract external funding, mentoring students, and teaching graduate and undergraduate students in Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences. All fields of pharmacology will be considered with a preference for candidates with expertise in cardiovascular/metabolic disorders or neuropharmacology. An excellent startup package is available and a large fraction of the department's graduate students are supported by graduate assistantships, teaching fellowships and university fellowships.



Qualifications

An earned Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology or related area is required and post-doctoral experience is preferred.
