Special Events Coordinator

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Hokie Club, the Special Events Coordinator for Virginia Tech Athletic Fund ( VTAF ) will assist the Executive Director of the Hokie Club in carrying out designated duties and responsibilities for the Virginia Tech Athletic Fund. This highly motivated professional will be involved with the planning, coordination, and execution of the VTAF special events in support of intercollegiate athletics.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent level training/experience.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency utilizing software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or related software.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to relate to and establish relationships with donors, volunteers and colleagues.
• Demonstrated experience with graphic design and/or desktop publishing software (In Design, Photoshop, etc.).
• Self-motivated with ability to set strategic goals while implementing fundraising principles and tactics.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Preference given to candidates with a Master's degree in sports management or related fields.
• Prior experience in special event programming.
• Preference given to candidates possessing an understanding of donor/ticketing/constituent database systems.
• Experience in customer service, premium seating and/or public relations.
• Prior experience creating, managing, and reconciling budgets, including both accounts payable and receivable.
