Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor In-Residence


The Accounting Department in the School of Business at the University of Connecticut invites applications for non-tenure track positions at the rank of Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor In-Residence to begin in Fall, 2020.

As part of these initiatives, we are pleased to continue these investments by inviting applications for faculty positions in the Department of Accounting.

The successful candidate will be expected to share a deep commitment to effective instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to the mentoring of students in their professional development. Senior level candidates will also share a commitment to the development of innovate courses. In addition, individuals will be expected to contribute to scholarship and outreach targeted at the professional community so as to maintain faculty qualifications under AACSB guidelines. Successful candidates will also be expected to broaden participation among members of under-represented groups; demonstrate through their activities the richness of diversity in the learning experience; integrate multicultural experiences into instructional methods and research tools; contribute to the development of pedagogical techniques designed to meet the needs of diverse learning styles and intellectual interests.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications for Instructor in-Residence: Candidates must possess a Master's degree, a CPA, and have some teaching experience. Equivalent foreign degrees are acceptable. Candidates who can teach in multiple accounting areas are preferred, as are those with experience in on-line instruction and experience or established relationships with the accounting profession and/or business community.

Minimum Qualifications for Assistant/Associate/Professor in-Residence: Candidates must possess a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Accounting or related field, or a J.D. Equivalent foreign degrees are acceptable. Candidates who can teach in multiple accounting areas are preferred, as are individuals with experience advising students, practicing accounting, and a CPA qualification. A publication record is desirable. Applicants at the rank of associate professor or higher should have significant experience in an AACSB accredited university program, and evidence of service to the university, the field, and the profession.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

These are full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track positions with an anticipated start date of August 23, 2020. The successful candidate's primary academic appointment will be at the Storrs campus with the possibility of assignment at other UConn regional campuses or on-line instruction. Salary and position rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
