Job Purpose
Work closely with the Office of International Education to handle issues which arise in the community.

Essential Functions
Handle day to day issues which arise in the community. First line contact for police, landlords, business and faculty issues which arise due to culture differences or miscommunications. Based on the new J-1 requirements which require cultural activities be included in the plan for all J-1 and exchange visitors, which will include activities around campus and in the community, this individual will assist with these programs. Assist students with grade appeals. Assist with the semester registrations. Assist students with document requirements for graduation. Assist visitors to campus who are here for reasons related to issues which arise related to culture differences or miscommunications.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Two years of experience in customer service. Experience with and knowledge in working with non-native English speakers and students originating from overseas. Experience with software such as the Microsoft suite, especially Excel.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an international office. Experience working in a community outreach or development of community activities. Experience with Banner. Bilingual in languages such as Chinese, Arabic, Korean, or Portuguese.

Work Hours
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Additional hours if/when needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD42. Anticipated Vacancy.
