Job Purpose
Provide administrative and professional leadership of the Multicultural Affairs Department and oversight of the Leona Lusk Officer Black Cultural Center.
Essential Functions
Improve the academic performance of ethnic minority students. Conduct research with a focus on developing academic and social support to enhance academic and professional development of women, first-generation, and minority student populations. Collaborate with the Assistant Vice President (AVP) to develop professional development activities for students. Collaborate with other academic and student support programs to enhance academic retention and graduation rates. Create and direct programs that will decrease the number of students on academic warning, probation, or suspension. Write and maintain grants. Develop and coordinate cultural programs. Connect and collaborate with ethnic minority alumni. Serve and/or represent the AVP on university committees and in meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in education or one of the behavioral sciences. Five years of professional experience in post-secondary education, administration, student services or leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
Some teaching experience in higher education. Experience working with people from underrepresented ethnic groups.
Work Hours
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Additional hours if/when needed.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD48.
