Job Purpose
Promote positive growth and development of students by providing supervision and leadership, advising, training, and opportunities for advancement through co-curricular organizations, activities, and events.

Essential Functions
Serves as advisor for the Student Government Association executive officers, senators, supreme court, and cabinet members. Plans and executes bi-annual, large scale SGA SOLO concerts and events sponsored by the SGA Superfund. Responsible for facilitating SOLO operating fund allocations for registered student organizations events. Provides advisement, training, and support to approximately 220 registered student organizations and maintains files for each. Guides students and faculty through student organization recognition process. Reviews and approves all new student organization applications. Responsible for supervision of the Tech Activities Board (formerly the University Programming Council) to bring a variety of cultural, recreational, educational, and social events and activities to campus. Responsible for planning and implementing the University student Homecoming competition (consists of 8-9 competitions such as skit night, pep rally, etc.), Homecoming Parade, and half-time ceremony for SGA Homecoming Court. Other duties as assigned relevant to student life.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Three years of job-related experience. Proficiency in computer software programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, website design software, and other technological applications. Knowledge of University policies that pertain to establishing and oversight of student organizations. Knowledge of event planning, implementation, and evaluation (including, but not limited to concerts of large and small scale), speakers, performers, philanthropic events, community service events, banquets, organization fairs, competitions (such as a pep rally), and parades. Knowledge of University policies that pertain to purchasing, contract agreements, budgets, as well as liability and risk management policies to minimize the University's exposure to risk. Ability to plan, promote, conduct, and evaluate events and programs independently with little supervision. Ability to lead and supervise graduate assistants and student staff. Ability to communicate effectively with students, administrators and staff, faculty, alumni, and guests. Ability to compile and analyze data and reports.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in social sciences, education, or communications. Five years of job-related experience.

Work Hours
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Additional hours if/when needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD42.
