Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies Full-Time Lecturer in

The Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for the position of full-time Lecturer in African Studies. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of teaching and/or research on Africa from one or more disciplinary perspectives, including history, economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, and the other social sciences.
Duties include: (1) serving as academic advisor to our Lauder Institute Africa Program students; (2) teaching classes and modules on Africa at our Philadelphia campus; (3) designing and leading study trips and immersions in Africa; and (4) advising students on Africa-focused research projects.
The position is for one academic year, with the possibility of renewal. Minimum requirements include no less than 5 years of work experience, and a PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline. Experience with students enrolled in a professional master's program. Advanced proficiency in a language besides English is desirable but not required. Interested candidates should send a cover letter, CV, and sample syllabi of recent courses, if available. A list of references will be required of final round candidates.
