Graduate Admission Counselor

The admission counselor must be able to multi-task and should be comfortable working in an online environment in order to counsel potential students in all stages of the recruitment funnel.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Counsel and follow up with prospective students by telephone or email concerning Marist's academic programs, admission policies and procedures, and other related information.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations about Marist, its programs, and admissions process at various colleges, organizations, information sessions and open house events (Travel required).
  • Assist with preparation of electronic files concerning applicant credentials.
  • Prepare reports as needed to monitor status of applicants, activities, and projects.
  • Participate in conversion activities (i.e. follow-up contact with admitted students) to assist in the attainment of annual enrollment goals. This includes providing assistance with online registration and online payment system.
  • Maintain and update all related databases in a timely and effective fashion.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree is required. Minimum of one to three years of relevant experience is also required. Excellent communication, organizational skills, experience in sales, marketing, and recruitment preferred. A flexible schedule is necessary, as evening and weekend hours will be required. Expected to have a positive attitude, good analytical ability, strong work ethic, and a valid driver's license is a must. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Previous work experience in a Customer Relationship Management system and WebAdmit is preferred.
