Senior Business Data Analyst - School of Arts and Sciences

The Executive Administrative Dean's Office of Arts and Sciences is responsible for the overall administrative functions of the School. The Dean's Office oversees the School's academic departments, the teaching and research enterprises, student services, and facilities. Functions include financial and strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource management, and facility management and renovations.

The Senior Business Data Analyst reports to the Director of Administration and supports the Office of the Executive Administrative Dean (EAD) of the School of Arts & Sciences with project management, reporting and analysis needs. The Senior Business Data analyst leads EAD office data analytic and reporting efforts, coordinating with related university offices to develop or refine systems and tools to inform decision making on business practices, program performance, and resource allocation.

Working with the EAD, Director of Administration and other key stakeholders, the Senior Business Data Analyst creates and reviews indicators to monitor performance and recommend actions for implementation. The position provides project management for various initiatives, facilitating feedback from internal (dean s office) and external stakeholders to identify needs, coordinating scope definition, drafting and managing project timelines, developing functional specifications, coordinating meetings and agendas, tracking outstanding tasks and questions, developing documentation, communicating to stakeholders and project sponsors, and ensures project deliverables are met.



Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • 4 years of related experience in system implementation, project management, or data analysis and report development.
  • Bachelor s degree.
  • Excellent financial, business, and strategic analysis skills.
  • Project leadership experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with direct experience managing communications with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate and lead complex business projects.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work under concurrent deadlines.
  • Excellent prioritization, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong Excel and report writing skills.
  • Highly-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Highly adaptable and organized, able to shift priorities while managing long term project timelines.
  • Professional demeanor with strong customer focus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Experience as technical resource on a project team (specific experience with VBA, Tableau, SQL is helpful).
