Postdoctoral Associate

Position Summary:
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Interface of Leadership and Teams ( ILT ) lab of Dr. Roseanne Foti, in the Department of Psychology at Virginia Tech (https://www.psyc.vt.edu/labs/ilt). Projects in the lab investigate the process of how leaders emerge in small groups, the role of followers' perceptions in the leader emergence process, congruence of leader and follower perceptions of leadership and followership, measurement of implicit leadership and followership theories, and the link between leader emergence and leader effectiveness. The successful applicant will play a critical role in an ARI -funded project investigating the role of episodic and semantic memory processes in the measurement of leadership.
The post-doctoral associate will conduct both independent and supervised research, and under supervision of the adviser design and conduct experiments, write reports, submit deliverables to sponsors, publish papers, work in a collaborative team environment, and assist in supervising graduate and undergraduate students, proposal preparation, and other duties as assigned. Only applicants with strong academic background and directly relevant experience to the areas listed below will be considered. The position is for two years. Starting date can be any time after September 15, 2018.

Required Qualifications:
•Ph.D. in organizational psychology, or in a very closely related field.
•Strong methodological and quantitative background (particularly Latent Profile Analysis and Longitudinal Modeling).
•Knowledge in the following areas of cognitive psychology: prospective memory, episodic memory, and formal models of memory.
• Willingness to work in a team science environment.
• Be a strongly motivated, enthusiastic and self-driven individual who excels in a highly collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience using diverse sources of data, both traditional ones such as surveys, and non-traditional ones, such as administrative data and social media.
