The University of Connecticut School of Law solicits applications for one tenured or tenure-track faculty position to commence in fall 2019. The School of Law is the top-ranked public law school in the Northeast, with a nationally landmarked campus in Hartford near to the state capitol and courts as well as the headquarters of major corporations. The Law School hosts four student journals, over forty student organizations, extensive clinical and service engagement with the surrounding communities, and one of the largest law libraries in the world. More than 100 research centers and institutes serve the wider University's teaching, research, diversity, and outreach missions, leading to UConn's ranking as one of the nation's top research universities.

Successful candidates will teach courses; advise students on independent projects; complete research in their academic areas of interest; and publish scholarship. As members of the faculty, successful candidates will participate in faculty management via committee work; participate in national organizations related to their area of research/scholarship interest; attend and speak at national, regional and local conferences and other events; work closely with other departments and faculty; and perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A JD from an accredited institution or equivalent terminal degree such as a Ph.D in a relevant field (equivalent foreign degrees are acceptable); a record of scholarly work (published or in-progress) of a quality commensurate with or demonstrating the potential for tenure; a well-defined research agenda; demonstrated skills to be an effective teacher; and the ability to teach an introductory Business Organizations course.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The completion of one or more scholarly works in the field of business law; ability to teach in one or more of the following additional areas: mergers and acquisitions, securities, compliance, corporate social responsibility, international business transactions, or commercial law; and a demonstrated ability to contribute through research, teaching, and public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the law school.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full time 9-month position. Salary and position rank at Associate or Full Professor will be commensurate with background, qualifications, and experience. Candidates should expect to work at the Law School located in Hartford, Connecticut.
