JOB SUMMARY:

This is a "working supervisor" Administrator who spends more than 50% of time personally performing payroll processing and related activities such as Staff Payroll and Garnishments.

REPORTS TO: Director of Payroll & Accounts Payable

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Coordinate payroll processing and workflow.
  2. Set up New Hires, process changes, terminations, direct deposit, taxable fringe benefits, deductions for administrators, clerical, facilities, public safety, and hourly employees.
  3. Checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards.
  4. Perform tasks to establish, reconcile and maintain employee payroll records.
  5. Download data from Administrative Systems.
  6. Oversee and coordinate all aspects of Automated Time and Attendance System.
  7. Calculate amounts of Short Term Disability, Paid Family Leave, Overtime and Special Payments.
  8. Process payroll adjustments.
  9. Run various ADP reports on the computer.
  10. Troubleshoot Data Bridge issues.
  11. Process Stop Payment on checks.
  12. Process Manual Checks.
  13. Review and reconcile ADP output once payroll is processed.
  14. Prepare various reports from Excel as well as ADP Reporting for Payroll and other departments.
  15. Prepare Journal Entries.
  16. Handle all aspects of wage garnishments including making Child Support payments on line.
  17. Handle Employee inquiries.
  18. Process wire transfer request for credit union deductions.
  19. Maintain ADP generated CD's.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Knowledge of payroll system (ADP PayForce).
  2. Knowledge of Automated Time & Attendance System (ADP eTime).
  3. Knowledge of Payroll Garnishments.
  4. Proficiency in Excel and Word.
  5. Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  6. Detail oriented.
  7. Ability to maintain strict deadlines in a hectic environment.
  8. Good verbal and written communications skills.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor Degree in Business
  2. 3-5 years Payroll experience with 2000 or more employees
  3. (CPP designation Preferred)

POSITION(S) SUPERVISED:

  1. Payroll Accountant.
  2. Payroll Administrator.
