The Department of Mathematics at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in the Fall of 2019. Wheaton College provides students an educational experience that affords opportunity to explore interests in the field in a supportive environment that cultivates curiosity and career aspirations through innovative courses and pedagogy. We seek candidates with a passion for teaching a broad selection of undergraduate math courses and the creative energy to develop new courses, with Statistics and Applied Mathematics given preference. An active research program able to engage undergraduates is also desirable. The teaching load is 5 courses per academic year (over the course of two semesters), with a reduced course load of 4 courses for the first year. A pre-tenure semester leave at full pay, as well as teaching and research funding, head a strong list of benefits.

Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Mathematics, with thesis defense completed by August 31, 2019.
• Prior teaching experience, and commitment to excellence in teaching.
• Desire to contribute to and expand current departmental offerings in Statistics or Applied Mathematics.
• An active scholarly research program.
