Program Coordinator - Gordon Institute


The Tufts Gordon Institute (TGI) provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to lead teams, and entire companies. Our graduate and undergraduate engineering management, innovation & management, and entrepreneurship programs are taught by faculty who have excelled in industry, have started and run their own companies and know what it takes to succeed in the business world.

We focus on technology leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship in classes, hands-on projects and real-world experiences to provide students the practical leadership tools and knowledge necessary to encourage and develop innovative ideas that will make a difference in the world. Our alumni have become leaders in an array of public, private and non-profit companies representing all industries from biotech to finance to technology R&D.

Supports and contributes to development of Tufts Gordon Institute curricular and co-curricular goals and strategies; Responsible for creating and managing the department s contact and partnership databases to effectively communicate department activities and events; Participates in development and implementation of marketing for the ELS program, including writing content for website and social media material. Effectively represents TGI s programs at conferences, meetings and events; Aids with general office administration.


Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree and 0-3 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Aptitude for problem solving, program marketing, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Hands on experience with CRM tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities to articulate the goals of the office and act in an ambassadorial capacity.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • An appreciation for and ability to work with a diverse population of students, staff, faculty, and community members.
  • Demonstrate consistent discretion and exercise good judgment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, and communicate effectively with a variety of constituents and audiences.
  • Highly flexible schedule including some Saturdays, and 2 evenings per week to accommodate class and event schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in higher education and/or startup environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to bring a thoughtful, poised, and positive attitude to the position.
  • A demonstrated understanding of entrepreneurship and innovation.
  • Event management experience.

Special Work Schedule Requirements:

Non standard schedule. 2 evenings (until 9:30pm)/week and occasional Saturdays. Possible travel
