Duties and Responsibilities:
Administers and oversees the care, prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries to student-athletes in eleven (11) intercollegiate sports.

Manages staffing of the Athletic Training Room and provide supervision for the assistant athletic training staff, interns and students.

Organizes and maintains all medical records in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Documents all injuries and treatment progress in athlete's medical record.

Prepares clear and accurate reports regarding travel authorities, expenditure reconciliations, visa reconciliations, inventory lists and requested accounting.

Develops and maintains related database and enter data as necessary.

Maintains student-athlete insurance information.

Maintains good communication with the insurance providers including our secondary provider and manage all paperwork required for claims.

Develops and manages the Athletic Training Room budgets, policies and facilities to maintain optimal health, safety and welfare of all constituents.

Coordinates the purchasing and use of all equipment and supplies needed in the operation of the training room, in accordance with State and University policies.

Plans and coordinates physical examinations and screenings.

Communicates with physicians and coaching staff regarding the injury status of athletes.

Makes appropriate physician's referrals and appointments.

Administers the departmental drug testing policy.

Performs game various competition management services for home and visiting teams.

Assists the institution in hosting athletic events.

Assists the Athletic Director and coaches in determining that the sport facility is in optimal and safe condition.

Helps monitor weather conditions and dangerous environments (humidity/lightening).

Adheres to Gulf South Conference guidelines, including visiting team accommodations and services.

Ensures the Athletic Department staff maintains up-to-date First-Aid, CPR and AED certification.

Supports the departmental goals of cultivating relationships in the Montgomery and River Region area that allows the department to solicit monetary partnerships/sponsorships.

As a part of the job responsibilities associated with this position, knowledge of rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA and conference should be maintained, reviewed and practiced to ensure compliance relative to those applicable duties.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or health-related area, and five (5) years of athletic training experience. Current CPR, AED and NATABOC certification required. Additional education in related field may be substituted for experience.
