Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching:
Teaches within the graduate program and responsible for course development and evaluation of all graduate level psychiatric-mental health courses
Demonstrates enthusiasm for teaching with a proven track record of effective teaching, including online, hybrid, and face-to-face approaches
Uses a variety of innovative teaching techniques to promote critical thinking and achieve course outcomes.
Demonstrates one s thoughtfully developed philosophy of and pedagogy toward teaching.
Maintains certification in an area of psychiatric mental health

Scholarship:
Supports the research/scholarly mission of the School and/or University.
Demonstrated ability to successfully conduct research/scholarly projects.
Disseminates research/scholarship to students through teaching, and publication of clinically or educationally based journal articles and presentations
Mentors students in completion of scholarly projects

Service:
Acts as Academic Advisor to students in the psychiatric-mental health graduate track of the MSN and DNP program; develops each student s program plan, and monitors the academic progress and standing of students
Actively serves as a member of MNSON committees and/or task forces.
Participates in University and SON activities.
Participates in community outreach activities that promote health.
Attends MNSON and University events.
Attends and assists at conferences or workshops involving MNSON or University at local level.
Maintains availability to students for coaching and mentoring.
Participates in professional organizations relevant to PMH Advanced Practice
Maintains psychiatric-mental health practice as a component of role

Qualifications
REQUIRED :
Licensure in the state of Illinois as a Registered Nurse or Eligible for Illinois RN licensure(s); and licensure in the state of Illinois as an Advanced Practice Nurse
Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
An earned doctorate (PhD or DNP ) in Nursing or a related field. Graduate preparation in PMH advanced practice nursing
Experience commensurate with appointment at a faculty rank of Assistant Professor or higher.

-Record of scholarly productivity
-Demonstrated collaborative and consultative working style
-Demonstrated creative and systematic problem solving abilities
-Knowledge of current trends and issues in nursing leadership and management, education and practice
