Tenure-track, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, emphasis in

The Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position with an emphasis in Behavioral Neuroscience, broadly defined. Preference will be given to candidates who can adapt their research program to a small, liberal arts environment and involve undergraduate students in their research. In addition, faculty are also expected to contribute to the department and college through service activities and advising.

Essential Functions
The candidate will be expected to teach upper level courses related to the area of expertise (i.e., Physiological Psychology, Sensation & Perception & Cognitive Neuroscience), as well as methodology courses (i.e., Research Methods in Psychology & Statistics for Scientific Research), depending on department need, as part of a 3/3 load.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have prior college-level teaching experience and a commitment to teaching in a liberal arts setting.

Preference will be given to candidates who can adapt their research program to a small, liberal arts environment and involve undergraduate students in their research. Candidates should have a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body.

A PhD is required by September 1, 2019.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
