Lecturer - Health Services Administration



Eastern Washington University and the Department of Health Services Administration invite applications for an individual to serve as Lecturer in Health Services Administration. Start date for this position is September 17, 2018.


This position is responsible to teach undergraduate classes in the health services administration program. Classes cover a wide range of topics which include professional development, health finance, health law, health economics, health technology, health research and design and population health. The lecturer is expected to participate in discipline and department meetings as well as contribute to professional development opportunities and student events.


Faculty are expected to engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning. Additionally, the candidate selected for this position may be expected to teach face-to-face classes, hybrid or blended classes and/or online classes according to the needs of the department.

Conditions of Employment


This appointment is expected for academic year 2018-19 only; however, if the tenure track search fails, then the person hired into this position may be reappointed for subsequent years following the university's normal evaluation and retention policies and CBA provisions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Health Management area

  • Knowledge of the local health administration community

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching;

  • Demonstrates high degree of interest, ability and/or experience in promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives

  • Minimum of 5 yrs working experience in a health administration position

  • Prior teaching experience within the department of public health and health administration
