Adjunct Collection Strategist Librarian

Full/Part Time Status:Full Time Service Schedule:Academic Year

Position Description:

The University of Northern Iowa's Rod Library seeks a temporary faculty member as a Collection Strategist Librarian to select and evaluate resources in all formats in several diverse subject areas to be assigned. Responsibilities include encumbering monograph allocations on an established schedule; reviewing gift books; making binding and replacement decisions; participating in a review of the circulating monograph collection and electronic resources; and communicating with teaching faculty and others about resource needs and availability.

Education Requirements:

ALA-accredited master's degree in library or information science or international equivalent required.

Required Qualifications:

At least one year of academic library experience or coursework related to collection management and demonstrated interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience selecting and assessing diverse library resources and experience with budget management preferred.
