ABOUT AIC

American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 70+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 660,000 gross square feet. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students. Founded in 1885, the College has 3700 graduate and undergraduate students. AIC offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs through the Schools of Business, Arts and Sciences; Health Sciences; and Education. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Advise assigned Registered Student Organizations (RSO), including the Student Activities Board. RSO advising includes event approval, budget oversight, performance agreement review, and other event logistical support.
  • Plans and facilitates special events for students, such as performances, lectures, fairs, seminars, trips, and late-night/weekend programming; coordinates event infrastructure to include enterprise risk management, hospitality, transportation, scheduling and staffing, as appropriate.
  • Manage the overall operations of the Stinger Pub including maintaining a semester program of events, coordinating all marketing efforts, hiring/supervising/training/and evaluating student employees, and functionally supervising a graduate assistant that shares responsibility in Residence Life.
  • Primary administrator for the student engagement platform, Engage by Campus Labs. Engage oversight includes new and existing RSO registration, event request system development, user permissions, marketing the system to increase user adoption, and general system maintenance to ensure the system is running effectively.
  • Participate in and support general Student Life programming and collaborate with other offices and departments to provide programmatic support to programs including Summer Orientation, Welcome Week, Homecoming, Model Congress, and Senior Week.
  • Participate in departmental goal setting, serve on assigned committees, and work on assigned special projects as needed by the department.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required Degree(s): Master's Degree
  • Required Field of Expertise: Minimum one year experience in Student Activities or related student affairs department is required
  • Preferred Field of Expertise: Student personnel or related field and minimum of two years experience in student activities or related student affairs
  • Required Licensure(s): Valid Drivers License

  • Must be able to perform diverse duties and responsibilities in a high-energy environment with the ability to respond to the changing needs and demands of the faculty, staff, and students.
  • Must embrace diversity and create a community that is inclusive and accessible.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends as necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, public relations, and customer service skills are essential.
  • Experience in event planning

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full time, exempt level, benefit eligible position. Normal Office Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., flexible to the needs of the department. Night and or weekend event work required as necessary.
