Position Summary:
Since 1981, the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center has offered year-round, research-based programming to the youth and families of Northern Virginia. In addition to its acclaimed camps, the Center hosts a variety of corporate retreats, festivals, team building programs, and outdoor recreation. In February 1976, 229 acres of the original Remount Depot Station located on highway 522 outside of Front Royal were deeded to Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University for the creation of a youth development center. This center became the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational and Conference Center.
The Northern Virginia 4-H Educational and Conference Center serves 19 Northern Virginia Counties plus the City of Alexandria and reaches thousands of young people each year through its 4-H junior and special interest camps, environmental education programs, and ropes/challenge course programming. More than 5,900 youth ages 5-18 are involved in the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center programming annually.
