Tenure Track Assistant Professor, Biology

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Delaware (www.bio.udel.edu) invites applications for multiple tenure-track assistant professor-level positions from individuals who study important questions in biology and are committed to establishing robust research programs. Applicants must have a doctoral or equivalent degree, postdoctoral experience, documented evidence of high-quality research productivity, and a strong commitment to both research and teaching.

The successful candidate is expected to: 1) develop and maintain a nationally recognized, externally funded research program; 2) train BS, MS and PhD students; and 3) teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. Candidates whose research encompasses molecular and cellular approaches are encouraged to apply. Department strengths include the molecular and cellular basis underlining the mechanisms of human diseases using multiple model organisms. Candidates whose research includes cell biology, microbiology, immunology, molecular evolution and those using cutting-edge technology to address fundamental questions are of interest. Faculty will be provided with a competitive salary and start-up package.

The Department of Biological Sciences has outstanding facilities and support, including a vibrant collaborative research and teaching community, and consists of 30 faculty members with research interests ranging from molecular biology, genetics, and developmental biology to cell signaling. The Department has a robust graduate program with around 80 graduate students in its MS/PhD program.
