Brief Summary:
The Biology Department at Marist College invites applications for part-time adjunct instructor(s) to teach two sections of Sex, Evolution and Behavior (lecture) a course designed for non-science majors, starting at the end of August for the Fall 2018 semester.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This course is designed for the non-science major and will examine how natural selection influences the evolution of social behavior in animals (including humans). Topics will include: the physiological basis of behavior, the adaptive value of behavior, learning and instinct, mate selection, parental investment, altruism, infanticide, primate behavior, and human sociobiology.
Meets once per week, M/W 3:30-4:45 PM AND M/W 5:00-6:15 PM
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Biology or closely related field required; PhD and college-level teaching experience preferred but not required.
