Part-Time Data Analyst - Beatrice Rogers Research, Friedman School of Nutrition


This is a limited term position ending January 31, 2019. This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.

The Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, established in 1981, is the only self-governing graduate and professional school of nutrition in North America. Its mission is to improve the nutritional well-being of people worldwide through: the creation of new knowledge; the application and dissemination of evidence-based information and; the education and training of future leaders in the field

The Food Aid Quality Review (FAQR) Part Time Data Analyst will work closely with the FAQR Data Team, Field Research Manager and Principal Investigator. The data analyst will clean and analyze data from a field study assessing the use of food aid products in USAID Food for Peace Title II programs. The study is currently being conducted in Sierra Leone and is evaluating the relative effectiveness and cost effectiveness of four supplementary foods in the treatment of moderate acute malnutrition in normal programmatic settings.


Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • Master s degree and/or equivalent experience required.
  • 1-3 years of experience with statistical programming (SAS and Stata).
  • Relevant graduate level training in statistics and data analysis.
  • Experience working with large, complex data sets.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently under deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-culturally.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new software as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferably familiarity with cluster randomized study designs and analysis methods.
  • Prior experience working in international nutrition or experience in biological nutrition analyses or social science research.
  • Experience with qualitative data analysis is a plus.
