Sr. Financial Analyst

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Facilities Finance, the Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for all business and financial operations ($50 - 150 million annually) for the Facilities Capital Construction area and the strategic goals for Budgetary Documentation prepared for Facilities. Responsibilities include the strategic planning and management of CCR operating budgets and the cost recovery/rate forecasting models. Drafts and submits for approval all budgetary Capital Outlay ( HECO ) form work for local and State funded projects. Prepares documents as needed to record special agreements. Liaison with other VT departments to designate sources and uses of funds. Coordinates with other university departments to identify budgetary needs and scope for Capital Projects. Provides a variety of Service Center, Project, financial, and ad-hoc reporting/analysis for stakeholders and senior management. This position will have a supportive role in the university's Six-Year capital Plan and will assist senior management with special projects as requested. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant Federal, State, and university policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Management or related field.
- Budgeting and Financial Planning experience in a professional level position.
- Thorough knowledge of procurement and business principles with the ability to research, perform complex calculations, analyze accounts, and create reports.
- Experience preparing detailed reconciliations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite within Windows operating system environments, specifically Excel.
- Evidence of strong interpersonal skills including effective communication skills.
- Must be able to work both collaboratively and independently without constant supervision.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must have a high level of independent judgment, initiative, discretion, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
- Previous work in higher education.
- Experience with SCT Banner systems, or similar enterprise system.
