CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
Postdoctoral Researcher in Materials Science and Engineering
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Delaware is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for an immediate opening to work on the synthesis and characterization of biofunctionalized monomers for the in-situ electrochemical polymerization around living neural cells. Candidates with expertise in organic materials synthesis and characterization, as well as experience with in-vitro cell and tissue culture are desired. Familiarity with materials characterization techniques including impedance spectroscopy, and electron and optical microscopy are also desirable. The position is for one year, with possibility of renewal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or closely-related field; with a strong background in organic and polymer materials design, synthesis, and characterization.
