Virginia FFA Executive Secretary

Position Summary:
The Virginia FFA Executive Secretary is responsible for providing overall leadership for the Virginia FFA Association. Primary responsibilities include coordinating overall activities of the Association with the Agricultural Education faculty; training and coordinating the activities of the team of State officers; coordinating the annual State convention; coordinate awards and recognition programs; monitoring the approved budget; processing all FFA funds; maintaining the FFA website; filling timely reports with Virginia Department of Education, Internal Revenue Service, National FFA , and the State Corporation Commission. Secondary responsibilities include working with FFA Alumni, FFA Advisory Council, FFA Foundation, Virginia Association of Agriculture Educators; Young Farmers of Virginia, Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and Virginia 4-H. The Virginia FFA Executive Secretary will work under the supervision of the Director of Virginia Cooperative Extension.

Required Qualifications:
-Master's degree in agricultural education or closely related area; applicants with a bachelor's degree and significant and relevant experience will be considered.
-Successful teaching experience in agricultural education.
-Strong effective leadership skills.
-Ability to work effectively with secondary school students and adults.
-Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing required.
- A self-directed individual who is also an effective change agent is desired.
-Experience with Microsoft Office and other software packages required.
