Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary:
Provides human resources and business operations support the Student Affairs Human Resources office. Responsible for the business operations and human resource needs of 3000+ faculty, classified/university, non-student and wage employees in Student Affairs. Assist with recruitment process including reviewing position descriptions, advertising, and posting staff and wage vacancies. Assist with offer letters and hiring proposals for selected candidates. Assists with announcements to SharePoint site. Assist with overflow of work for Staff postings helping screen applicants and provide backup for Senior HR Generalist when needed. Build relationships with clients in Student Affairs that we serve.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business and/or equivalent related experience. Previous progressive Administrative and/or Human Resources experience. Good working knowledge of Human Resource Management principles and practices to include staffing, recruitment, screening, and employment, practice and policy interpretation.
Previous employment and staffing experience. Previous experience working in a Human Resources office in a professional setting. Exceptional interpersonal skills; excellent organizational skills; and demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability to use strong editing and proofreading skills. Able to produce accurate and auditable records. Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of competing demands.
Strong customer service experience in an academic or professional office environment. Ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner. Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills. Must be proficient with computers and software applications such as Windows and Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated experience handling sensitive and confidential information. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a team setting. Demonstrates initiative in completing tasks and solving problems. Experience working in a fast-paced office environment. Ability to maintain composure while managing workload with competing demands. Ability to interact respectfully and comfortably with all individuals in a diverse, multicultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
SHRM -CP, PHR and/or SPHR certification desired. Familiarity with SharePoint, Banner, PeopleAdmin, or similar software applications. Experience working in a large enterprise environment.
